The Converging World Project Leader
Description of the Charity:
The Converging World is a bristol-based charity currently working out of the Bordeax Quay restaurant. The charity invests in wind turbines in Southern India and uses the surplus profit from these to fund social and environmental projects in the UK and in India. As part of the Bristol Green Capital Year 2015, TCW are launching the Brindian Rainforest project, which aims to restore over 400,00 square meters of indigenous rainforests along the east coast fo Tamil Nadu.
This person will liaise with Wendy Stephenson, the CEO of the charity, at the start of the year to agree on the proposed projects. This review will also involve Brad Doswell, studying an EngD at Bristol University in partnership with TCW, as well as the president of EWB Bristol if possible.
The job is quite difficult especially if the India trip this summer is successful, and an international project is agreed. It requires someone who is organised and committed to working collaboratively with TCW to deliver the projects well and on time. Team-work skills are important, and it is vital that everyone is engaged in the project for it to be a success. The role is quite busy, but very rewarding, and will be a fantastic learning experience for whoever is elected.
