The President is responsible for ensuring the society is as effective as possible at in its core aim of removing barriers to development through engineering. How you do this is up to you, but traditionally involves: chairing committee meetings; managing the society email account; public speaking at big events; working with EWB-UK; securing funding from the faculty and providing support to the committee. There is a formal responsibility to ensure compliance with UBU and EWB-UK rules. Key skills are: delegation, leadership, delegation, management, delegation and attention to detail. A good sense of humor helps, but is evidently not required.
