Trip Archive: CAT 2014

6th – 8th June

Centre for Alternative Technology, West Wales

Tickets are now sold out!

We’ll be leaving at approximately 4pm on Friday 6th June, and returning by 9pm on Sunday 8th June.

Accommodation

We’ll be staying in CAT’s very own ‘Eco Cabins’. These low-impact cabins have their own energy generation and waste processing systems all on site!

Activities

On saturday we’ll be taking part in the following workshops:

  • Solar PV for developing countries
  • An update on the amazing Zero Carbon Britain project, which is based at CAT
  • A tour of some of CAT’s on-site energy generation systems

On sunday afternoon we’ll take a trip to Dinorwic Pump Storage Scheme, where we’ll be travelling right into the mountain to see the core of Europe’s largest man made cavern!

The rest of the time we’ll be free to explore the CAT site, go on walks, and generally have an amazing time.

Food

We’ll provide all meals for you whilst on the trip, and all food will be vegetarian. Cooking is a big job, so please do lend a hand and spread some culinary ingenuity if you can! Please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements.
